As well as developing individual skills and coordination, the course aims to teach the children to observe the conventions of fair play, honest competition, and good sporting behaviour, to understand and cope with a variety of outcomes including both success and failure, to promote good team spirit and to develop leadership qualities. Sports Day, in which all children participate, is held in June or July.
